About AIOI

AIOI is an international non-profit scientific institution dedicated to teaching and multidisciplinary dental training to update professionals with the most modern advances in various dental specialities and establish relation with national and international associations, scientific centres and similar institutes in order to exchange scientific information. It also fosters interprofessional and interinstitutional solidarity. AIOI provides membership and fellowship to interested candidates and conducts annual and global scientific activities every three years.

Dr Mallika will walk you through the latest updates relevant to clinical practice in this Laser dentistry course.

It is a comprehensive course including both basic and advanced aspects of laser dentistry, encompassing and understanding of laser physics, its safety concerns and its applications in various fields of dentistry. The course will comprise of didactic lectures, hands on training and live surgeries intended to give the participants a basic understanding of the principles of laser use to be incorporated in their clinical practice.

  • Candidates who become a member of AIOI will be entitled to subscribe for Indian Dentist Research and Review (IDRR) Journal free for four quarterly editions.
  • Candidates who secure the highest marks will be awarded at the National Conference of AIOI.

PRACTICAL SESSIONS

A. Demonstration and Hands-On (Goat Jaw / Chicken Pieces)

1. Learn about the laser machine, power settings and maintenance.
2. Learn Techniques viz: depigmentation, crown lengthening, frenectomy, pocket debridement.
3. Learn the concept of laser bleaching.
Each participant will be given material to perform hands-on on goat jaw/chicken pieces

B. Live surgical demonstration

1. Demonstration of procedures on patients at Gumsopolis: Depigmentation/Crown lengthening/Frenectomy/Laser assisted periodontal therapy/laser bleaching/pain therapy.
2. The participants will be allowed to perform Laser surgeries on patients at Gumsopolis during anytime of the year under Dr Mallika’s direct supervision.
